Junior Cup Final success for Lanarkshire official posted 26/4/2008
Donald MacKinnon has been appointed as 4th official to the Junior Cup Final between Bathgate and Cumnock at Rugby Park on June the 1st.
It is a tremendous achievement for Donnie (who was a mascot at the very first junior cup final between Fairfield Govan and Edinburgh Woodburn in 1887) officiates as an assistant referee in the Juniors
on a weekly basis. This is the second major Junior final for Donnie in recent years having been appointed to the Evening Times Cup Final a few seasons ago.
The game will be refereed by Brian Colvin of Edinburgh with Stevie Crichton and Ian Craig the assistants. Good luck to Donald.

Referees entrance course posted 1/4/2008
Entrance courses for new referees take place at various times throughout the year. Whether you see yourself as a budding "Hugh Dallas" or "Stuart Dougal" or perhaps simply think you can offer the game something
in junior or minor football why not consider it.
Ladies,
the profile of women's football in Scotland, and throughout the world, continues to rise at a
staggering pace. As testimony, check out both the
Scottish Football Association and
Scottish Women's Football Ltd
websites. If you do you will see that the opportunities for women in refereeing are there
for the taking - why not give it a go.
For further information on referees entrance courses, contact the Secretary. All entrance courses are open to both
potential male and female referees over the age of 16.

Amendments to the Laws of the Game - 2007 posted 20/8/2007
A small number of minor amendments to the Laws of the Game for reasons of clarification and consistency are effective from 1st July 2007, having been ratified at the Annual General Meeting of the International Football
Association Board (IFAB) earlier this year. The changes relate specifically to field proximity advertising, the fourth official, celebration of a goal and the player's equipment.
Details of the changes have been sent by the Scottish Football Association (SFA) to all members along with a copy of the Laws of the Game.
All referees should acquaint themselves with the changes in order for them to be applied as appropriate with immediate effect.
For full details of all changes check out your FIFA circular in conjunction with your copy of the Laws of the Game Season 2007-2008.
