The Association
Title
The organisation shall be called "Scottish Football Association Referees
(Lanarkshire)", and in these rules shall be referred to as "The Association".
Object of the Association
To promote refereeing at all grades of football by:
- preparing candidates for the entrance examination set by the Scottish
Football Association
- cooperating with area supervisors appointed by the Scottish Football Association
in furthering the educationand development of refereesby means of providingregular
physical training and coaching sessions, and assessment where applicable.
- conducting the affairs of the Association for the benefit of its members
Membership
- Youth
- members who have not reached the age of eighteen years on the date of the
following Annual General Meeting
- Ordinary
- open to all referees over the age of eighteen who have the approval of the
executive committee and who have passed the entrance examination set by the
Scottish Football Association (or who are in membership of another approved
association
- Life
- any member or ex-member having been in ordinary membership for a period of
not less than fifteen consecutive years and who throughout their membership
has been an outstanding member whether in their refereeing ability and/or
their work for the association - can be nominated by a member
- Associate
- any member who on retiring from active refereeing and has been a member of
Lanarkshire or other approved association for a period of not less than fifteen
years (or has reached the age of sixty) may apply to the executive committee
for associate membership
- Trainee
- members who have passed the written and oral parts of the entrance examination
but have yet to complete 2 matches under the guidance of the Association.
