The Social Committee is constantly striving to keep the Association's social calendar active. From the J Dearie Five-a-side football competition to the annual dinner dance, with a number of events in between, the social scene can sometimes be quite busy. Generally all prove to be extremely enjoyable occasions.
The annual John Dearie 5 a-side tournament will take place on the last night of official training, the 20th of May 2008. As in previous years there will be a buffet up at the Dalziel Park Hotel after the football. Cost is £5 per head. For more information contact a member of the social committee.
The Association's Annual Awards Evening took place at the Dalziel Park Hotel, Hagen Drive, Motherwell on Thursday 25th October 2007.
In keeping with recent events, this turned out to be another social event success for the Association. Following the presentation of awards, renowned speakers, Peter Brown and John O'Neill entertained the assembled audience with their own unique approaches to after-dinner speaking.
Sample some of the finer moments of the event both here below and on our Awards pages.

Above: Association President, Brian Winter, flanked by both guest speakers for the evening, on the left, John O'Neill and on the right, Peter Brown.

Above: Association life members, Willie McLeish (left) and John Dearie (right) seem to be having a good time - the event is a definite "thumbs up" from John

Above: Our "third guest speaker of the evening", Frank Crossley, generated a few laughs during his short acceptance speach following the presentation of his Special Merit award.
Another rip-roaring success for the Social Committee headed up by Steven Nicholls, (namely D McKenzie, A Mulvanny, A Miller, J Myles and F Connor) - well done.
