Law 10 - The method of scoring

A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, between the goal posts and under the crossbar provided it has not been thrown or carried or intentionally propelled by hand or arm of any attacking player except in the case of the goal keeper within his own penalty area.

Did you know?

A goal keeper can score a goal by throwing a ball from his own penalty area into his opponent's goal.

A goal can be scored direct from the kick-off.
