The recent new entrants class proved to be a huge success with no less than 20 candidates passing the referees entrance examination. This is great news for the Association and shows that refereeing continues to be an attractive prospect throughout the country.
The next stage of the induction process for these new referees is to officiate each on two matches under supervision of our more experienced members.
An initiative is already underway in North Lanarkshire Schools whereby sixth year pupils at selected schools are being given the chance to sit the entrance exam, and with continued support from North Lanarkshire Council the future is looking bright.
